We are approaching the Summer Solstice on the 21st of June where the Sun reaches its peak and hangs highest in the sky. We welcome the longest day. It is a time to bask, honour and celebrate the Sun and its power; it gives us abundance, energy and joy. It is also a pause to reflect and recognise the sunshine in each of us. Each of us has our own solar plexus; our own solar energy centre if you like... our own power. This class helps us feel proud of that and reconnects us to the joy of ourselves. Enjoy and celebrate and if it's a nice day, take your practice outside.

This week we learn about the emotional connection and unearth the hips. In yogic philosophy, the hips are the seat of Svadisthana, the sacral chakra, our energetic centre of emotion, water and repressed feelings. Autumn brings with it, Vata season, the energy recognised in Ayurveda as being of air, wind and instability. Anchoring the pelvis and the hips counteract any flighty, an anxious energy you might be experiencing in Vata season. So grab a block and practice an unearthing your hips with me. Jen xxxxx

In this class I bring you a clearing yoga flow focused on getting unstuck. A perfect notion as it beautifully aligns with the natural rhythms of early October. Just as trees shed their leaves to prepare for winter, a clearing flow helps us physically and mentally shed and let go of stagnant energy and old habits that are stuck. If you feel blocked or burdened right now, nature is giving us a masterclass right now in letting things go. Look to nature and drop what doesn't serve you - let your moments looking at the trees remind you of this. Prepare to release what is weighing you down to create space to move forward. Grab and block and enjoy your practice. Jen xxxxx

This week marks the Autumn Equinox - that midpoint between night and day and the first point of real Autumn. Harvest time. When our ancestors and those still working close to the land would celebrate all their hard work...the fruits of their loom...their harvests.  It is a beautiful time to give thanks. Bring in a gratitude practice. Some days this is easy, other days when we're challenged, it's less easy to find things we are grateful for. But one thing remains, when we practice being grateful things around us start to feel different...our perspective on life, what we have, who we have in it, and our relationship to ourself changes...for the good. In this class it is this we shall practice - we will open our hearts, regardless of how we arrive on our mat, and we will feel better for it. Enjoy this time of abundance, harvest and feeling good.

When everything feels a bit hot and rushed in the heat of the summer day, this class is here to cool and recalibrate you. My intention is to give your nervous system one long exhale. Staying low to the ground, focusing on stillness, exploring soothing postures like cat cow, gate pose, wide leg fold, lizard and happy baby along with cooling breath work practices. Prepare to feel cooler and calibrated. With love Jen xxxxx

Today we have the Flower Full Moon and we could say Spring is at its absolute max. We also have Beltane, the mid-point between the Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice. There is so much growth around us. It feels like everything has come to life. So much abundance. So much growth; Spring is exciting and everything is blossoming. So I thought it was a nice moment to pause and consider whether you are on track too? Are you watering the activities and dreams that you wished and hoped to water. Or is something stopping you from expressing your authentic self? Often we dim our light or have a struggle expressing ourselves authentically. This is the energy of the throat chakra. When this fifth chakra is in balance we are able to communicate our dreams clearly - we express ourselves fully without reservation, valuing our word and living authentically.  This class is designed to work at a physical and energetic level. Working into the upper shoulders, the throat, the neck, up to the jaw, to ensure that physically we are free of tension and energetically we feel more open. Use this class any time you feel blocked in this area.

Earth day offers us a moment to consider nature and the beautiful medicine that it offers to our wellbeing. Here in this flow we draw reference to this highlighting nature's importance in the yoga tradition and use it in a grounding flow to connect to it's simple beautiful goodness.

Twists are amazing - they offer a kind of magic that make you feel like you’re all put back together again. They’re really good for making you connect to your breath. This is a somatically gorgeous sequence to really serve you in a way that will help you twist tension out and bring you back into your centre, bringing the good feels back in.

Spring is on the horizon. There’s excitement...anticipation, there is forward momentum.... a sense of coming back to life, of making things happen, of needing to awaken any wintery energy and make space for newer hopeful times. And so how this class shows us how we can use our yoga to support ourselves with this transition. Here I show you how to work with the breath, kapalabhati to cleanse and renew, together with poses including side body and front body openers which has the feeling of opening the windows to our system. Combine this with taking our dristhi up and we are energetically well prepared to align with Spring’s energy.
