Today we have the Flower Full Moon and we could say Spring is at its absolute max. We also have Beltane, the mid-point between the Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice. There is so much growth around us. It feels like everything has come to life. So much abundance. So much growth; Spring is exciting and everything is blossoming. So I thought it was a nice moment to pause and consider whether you are on track too? Are you watering the activities and dreams that you wished and hoped to water. Or is something stopping you from expressing your authentic self? Often we dim our light or have a struggle expressing ourselves authentically. This is the energy of the throat chakra. When this fifth chakra is in balance we are able to communicate our dreams clearly - we express ourselves fully without reservation, valuing our word and living authentically.  This class is designed to work at a physical and energetic level. Working into the upper shoulders, the throat, the neck, up to the jaw, to ensure that physically we are free of tension and energetically we feel more open. Use this class any time you feel blocked in this area.

Earth day offers us a moment to consider nature and the beautiful medicine that it offers to our wellbeing. Here in this flow we draw reference to this highlighting nature's importance in the yoga tradition and use it in a grounding flow to connect to it's simple beautiful goodness.

Twists are amazing - they offer a kind of magic that make you feel like you’re all put back together again. They’re really good for making you connect to your breath. This is a somatically gorgeous sequence to really serve you in a way that will help you twist tension out and bring you back into your centre, bringing the good feels back in.

Spring is on the horizon. There’s excitement...anticipation, there is forward momentum.... a sense of coming back to life, of making things happen, of needing to awaken any wintery energy and make space for newer hopeful times. And so how this class shows us how we can use our yoga to support ourselves with this transition. Here I show you how to work with the breath, kapalabhati to cleanse and renew, together with poses including side body and front body openers which has the feeling of opening the windows to our system. Combine this with taking our dristhi up and we are energetically well prepared to align with Spring’s energy.

Notice what softening feels like in your body as we work through this heart and root chakra focussed flow, opening our hearts in a very grounded way - think warm blanket for the nervous system. Grab all the props - a blanket, eye mask, bolster, two blocks and a cuppa and flow into this sustaining self-love flow.

This is a great flow for when you need to find your strength and resilience. This class reminds us that strength should not feel forceful, but supported. Here we look at how we can support ourselves and make ourselves feel stronger through intentional, slow movement and breath. Resilience is - the ability to stay present and breathe through challenge. - not avoiding difficulty, but meeting it through breath. I hope from practicing this, you feel supportive strength not just from your physical self, but in your inner and emotional world.

Here is a flow to aid us to feel calm + grounded. Filmed in January, a month when you may feel anything but, with the “post-holiday" emotional slump, reduced hours of sunlight and changeable weather, I hope this gives you the tonic you need and deserve.
